Who owns the domain?
You do. It's registered with you as the owner. We look after the registration and renewals for you.
How long does it take?
Usually minutes. It's registered as soon as your card payment goes through, and the receipt is emailed to you.
What if I don't pay straight away?
We hold the name for a day. If the invoice isn't paid by then, the name is let go and the invoice is cancelled, so you're never charged for something you didn't finish buying.
How do renewals work?
Each name renews yearly. We email the renewal invoice 30 days before it's due, so there's time to pay it or tell us you're letting it go.
Can I buy a .com.au?
Yes. auDA asks for your business name and ABN, so the order form asks for them when you pick a .au ending.
Can I move a domain I already have to you?
Yes. Get its transfer key (sometimes called an auth or EPP code) from your current registrar and send it to us. We'll move it across.
Does it come with email?
Not from us yet. Keep the email you use now, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and we'll add its records so mail keeps arriving.
