Invite your team and pick their role

Everyone who works on your site signs in as themselves, with one of three roles. There are no passwords: they sign in with a six-digit code we email them.

Managers can see who's on the team.

  • Owner: everything, including the team, payment keys, the domain, custom code and going live.
  • Manager: runs the shop and the site, including products, pages, images, settings and refunds. Not the team, payment keys, the domain, custom code or going live.
  • Staff: orders, the inbox and contacts.

2 minutesOwners invite, change roles and remove peopleWorks on a phone

  1. Open Team

On a computer, choose Team in the sidebar. On a phone, tap More, then Team. The first time, you may be asked to set up an authenticator app (One more lock for this).

  2. Invite someone

Tap Invite someone at the top. Type their Email and choose their Role. It's Staff unless you pick another. Tap Send invitation.

  3. They join from the email

The link works for 14 days. They tap Join, then we email them a code to sign in. Until then they show under Waiting to accept as Sent, Opened, Accepted or Expired.

  4. If the email doesn't arrive

Under Waiting to accept, tap Copy the link and send it yourself, or tap Resend. Cancel stops the link working. If a link expires, they can ask for a new one from the link itself.

  5. Change someone's role

Tap Change role beside them, pick the new role and tap Save. You can do this before they've joined too.

  6. Take someone off the team

Tap Remove, then Remove them. They can't sign in to this site any more. What they did stays, and Activity still shows it.

Questions

Why can't I change or remove an Owner?

Every site needs an Owner. If they're the last one, make someone else an Owner first.

Who is Output/Input in my list?

That's how we look after your site: building, fixing and updating it. Ask us and we'll remove it, though everything then comes back to you.

What does app code on mean?

That person uses an authenticator app as well as the emailed code. See Two-factor sign-in and recovery codes.
